Hungry Pebble began with a simple idea: a quick meal should still be something you look forward to eating. We wanted hot, hearty comfort food with bold flavor, a flaky crust, and the freedom to take it wherever the day leads.
That idea brought us to the savory hand pie. With a golden pastry crust wrapped around a generous filling, it puts the comfort of a sit-down meal in the palm of your hand.
Founded in Starved Rock Country
We launched our flagship food truck in Starved Rock Country, Illinois, in fall 2026, with a mission to bring the humble meat pie to Illinois and beyond. Our name is a nod to the landscape around us: stone, trails, rivers, and the small things that leave a lasting impression. We’re building Hungry Pebble from here, one pie and one stop at a time.

Our pies bring together flaky pastry and savory fillings, from beef and chicken to satisfying vegetarian options. We draw inspiration from the meat pie traditions of places like Australia and New Zealand, then give them a place at the American table with familiar favorites and flavors worth discovering.
